Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. (Midland Power) held the 'Sprint Towards Youth Leap, the 7th Youth Energy Dream League Launch Ceremony' on the 10th.
The 'Youth Energy Dream League', held for the seventh time this year by Midland Power, is an idea competition aimed at enhancing youth capabilities to improve young people's understanding of the energy industry and foster future growth engines through enhancing entrepreneurship expertise.
This Youth Energy Dream League comprises a 'Youth League' aimed at college and graduate students and a 'Dream League' aimed at startup preparation teams and startups (within 3 years of establishment).
From the end of March, various future growth ideas such as eco-friendly energy technology, safety technology for accident prevention, and waste resource upcycling were received during the three-week application period, and a total of eight teams were selected through evaluations by experts within and outside the relevant fields.
The selected ideas include ▲ in the Youth League area, 'Creation of a safety belt for preventing falls and for optimal response' and ▲ in the Dream League area, 'Production of climbing bags using clothing slated for incineration from fashion companies'.
The selected teams will be matched with Midland Power's in-house staff in related fields and conduct research activities for about five months to refine and realize their ideas through consultations, etc.
The final evaluation of the research results will be conducted at the end of September, and depending on the performance, commercialization will also be promoted in collaboration with Midland Power.
Lee Young-jo, head of the Planning and Management Division of Midland Power, stated, “To achieve future growth, the brilliant ideas and innovative mindset of young people are essential,” and added, “We will actively support young people to realize innovative future growth ideas through this Youth Energy Dream League.”
